Carnot Game Description
Carnot Game is an engaging game inspired by the Carnot Cycle, where participants must shift among three thermal sources (hot, insulating, and cold) to optimize the work performed on the cylinder’s piston. The aim is to maintain the piston functioning within the perfect Carnot cycle, executing transitions between sources at the appropriate moments to prevent the cylinder from bursting or freezing. The nearer the player is to the Carnot cycle, the greater their score and advancement.
The player needs to click the button to switch among the thermal sources of the system, keeping in mind to make transitions at the correct times to prevent the piston from seizing or the cylinder from bursting. The Carnot cycle comprises four thermodynamic processes.
